Big Bang theory and Vedas
Big Bang theory and
Vedas
‘There was neither existence
nor non-existence’
Science came out to explain the evolution of universe with the theory (literary theory) of ‘big bang’ explaining that before ‘big bang’ there was neither the concept of time nor space and categorically there was nothing.
Cosmos, according to scientists, was a singular and then there was ‘big bang’
about 13.8 billion years ago and just after that there was inflation and later at
present universe is expanding with the speed of light and the observable
universe is having an edge as horizon event.
Science explains that before ‘big bang’ there was nothing exists
and there was no matter or energy and therefore there was nothing before the
‘big bang.’
‘Big bang’ is the theory
that explains that everything in the cosmos started with the one bang of a
singular particle and then cosmos started and therefore there is space, time, matter,
energy and living things exists.

Nasadiya Sukta of Rig
Veda
Also tried to explain the theory of evolution making parallel
equation with the modern ‘big bang’ theory of science.
“There was neither existence and nor non-existence;
There was neither space nor air;”
Now asking question, method to create curiosity.....
“The beginning is covered with what?
What actually it was?
Was there anything in cosmos and what was there in the depth?
नासदासीन्नो सदासीत्तदानीं नासीद्रजो नो व्योमा परो यत् | किमावरीवः कुह कस्य शर्मन्नम्भः किमासीद्गहनं गभीरम् ॥
It explain further about the evolution –
“There was no death before evolution and there
was not even immortality;
There was then no light and no darkness and
there was no day and night;
There was neither breath nor any wing and there
was only one and that means there is no other than one “
न मृत्युरासीदमृतं न तर्हि न रात्र्या अह्न आसीत्प्रकेतः | आनीदवातं स्वधया तदेकं तस्माद्धान्यन्न परः किञ्चनास ॥२॥
(The efforts are to highlight the rationality of
Hindu philosophy. The Hindu thoughts are not ultimate spiritual but having base
of rationality and science.)
