Fighting science through religion in India

 

 When Tsunami hit the Sumatra, island of Indonesia in 2004, residents of that place become more religious as they felt that the Almighty is testing them and as they failed in their regular prayers, therefore God punished them.

When Coronavirus hit the world, in India, people poured down in temples and in dargahs seeking blessings of Almighty. Those who recovered from Coronavirus in hospitals, they declared on social media that God saved them. When the second unlock started in India in 2022, people were not talking about the science or biotechnology or saving environment but only about worshiping god. People were not seen helping poor but offering sweets and fruits in temples.

Religion is not bad but blind faith is completely depraved. The world at present is facing global warming, melting of ice on both the poles of the globe, spreading of different viruses, increase of carbon emission and decrease of food supply to the world population and breaking of food chain but people are not thinking about the scientific aptitude to save the globe but they are involved in worshiping the unseen god and seeking their blessings as they feel they will forever with such blessings.

Certainly, rationality is the way of life, way of how one thinks and way live a logical life throughout. When the NASA launched James web telescope, there was no curiosity in the society of India that they will certainly come to know more about the vast space but people and society here in India was busy in planning new temples and feeding cows on roads.

The education system in India declined in quality and in also in scientific approach that a student completing post-graduation do not know how to write an application but that student very well knows how the god is saving them and feeding them and how their god has protected them from the Coronavirus. The youth is not seeking any scientific bend of mind and not even interested in philosophical acumen but short cut to get money through the blessings of god or gods. Just after the unlock in India, the most important discussions were how God should be worshiped and which temple is making miracle.

I feel, this is the initial time of a catastrophe approaching silently in a way of virus, global warming, draught and floods and it is the time when people have to prepare themselves scientifically and rationally.

Good or bad, voice calls you within
